Les Armateurs is a French film and animated series production company founded in 1994.
With over 29 years of experience, Les Armateurs has enjoyed numerous successes in cinema: Kirikou and the Sorceress in 1998, The Triplets of Belleville in 2003, Brendan and the Secret of Kells in 2009, and Ernest & Celestine in 2012, establishing itself as one of France’s leading animation production companies. Its productions have been honored with five Oscar nominations, two César Awards, and numerous festival awards.
Among the many series produced, T’choupi and Martine are now famous, and Les Grandes grandes Vacances was unanimously acclaimed by audiences and critics alike, as was the 26 x 22′ serial series Runes, an original creation combining a strong graphic universe with ambitious storytelling.
The company’s editorial line is demanding, offering original and ambitious auteur cinema. Each project is a “coup de coeur,” combining aesthetic commitment and quality writing. Les Armateurs’ latest feature film, Les Hirondelles de Kaboul, selected in the “Un certain regard” category at the Cannes Film Festival and in competition at the Annecy Festival, is no exception to the rule.
Les Armateurs is currently producing the new season of T’choupi, T’choupi à la campagne, and developing major projects such as our upcoming series Star Raider and Supercat is a dog !
